Lewis James Legal is currently seeking to fill two bankruptcy associate positions with highly regarded metro Atlanta law firms.
Qualified candidates for one position must have 2+ years of experience representing debtors in consumer bankruptcy cases under both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. Responsible for initial client intake, provide legal advice regarding appropriate options, reviewing all bankruptcy alternatives, providing explanations regarding bankruptcy process, reviewing and confirming bankruptcy petition information, attendance at 341 hearings, court appearances in defense of creditor motions, negotiation of consent agreements, review of POCs filed by creditors, supervision of paralegal staff, communication with creditors, opposing counsel, trustees and the courts. Must be willing to work some Saturdays each month. Salary plus benefits commensurate with experience. Qualified candidates for additional position must have 2+ years of experience representing creditors in bankruptcy matters and have experience litigating more complex bankruptcy issues, such as adversarials. Both positions require excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills. Strong research and writing skills.
